HMO Furniture Packages

Furniture packages designed for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). Fire-safe furniture, durable construction and room-by-room packages that meet licensing requirements.

HMO Furniture Requirements

Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) have specific furniture requirements. Under the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, all upholstered furniture in a rented property — including HMOs — must carry a permanent fire safety label confirming it meets ignition resistance standards. All furniture supplied by Infinity for HMOs complies with these regulations and carries the appropriate labelling.

Beyond fire safety, HMO furniture needs to be durable. Shared houses see heavier use than single-let properties — multiple tenants using the same kitchen, living area and communal spaces. Our HMO furniture packages use robust construction and hard-wearing fabrics that stand up to this demand, reducing replacement cycles and keeping your HMO profitable.

Room-by-Room HMO Packages

Each HMO furniture package is assembled room by room. Bedrooms get a bed, mattress, wardrobe, desk or bedside table, and a chair. Communal living areas get a sofa, coffee table and TV stand. Kitchens get a dining table and chairs, plus storage. We size the package to the number of tenants and the number of rooms in your HMO.

Because HMOs vary widely — from a four-tenant shared house to a seven-bed large HMO — we tailor every package. Tell us the room count and tenant number, and we'll build a package that covers every room without over-furnishing.

HMO Compliance and Licensing

Many local councils require HMOs to be licensed, and licensing conditions often include minimum furniture standards. Our HMO furniture packages are designed to meet or exceed these standards. We can provide documentation of fire compliance for your licensing application, and our installation teams ensure everything is fitted correctly.

If your local authority has specific requirements — for example, fire doors, specific furniture spacing or minimum room sizes — let us know and we'll factor these into your package specification.

HMO Portfolio Management

If you manage multiple HMOs, our trade portal gives you a single view of every property — quotes, orders, delivery dates and installation status. Negotiated trade pricing, volume discounts and dedicated account management make large HMO portfolios efficient to run. We can also handle summer refits across multiple properties, replacing worn furniture during the void period.
